Daylina is an experienced multimedia journalist, photographer, news producer, and social media manager with 15+ years experience. They’ve won multiple awards for multimedia journalism, investigative reporting, political coverage, social justice reporting, and more.They’ve also managed the social media for two employers, significantly increasing following and engagement, and regularly train colleagues and other journalists across the country on best practices for mobile journalism and social media reporting.

Social Media Manager (February 2025 - Current)
While I’ve been involved in station social media planning, creation, and production for ten years, I was recently moved into a new position overseeing the news social media platforms.
Post engaging social content; produce social media videos from video shot by field reporters; firm up social media best practices; increase engagement and reach to new audiences; propose which platforms we should leave behind and which ones we should explore and adopt.
Multimedia Journalist (Jun 2020 - Current)
Produce multimedia news content for radio, online, and for various social media platforms, including audiograms, reels, photo galleries, infographics, social graphics and more.
Helped write our news team and station’s best practices guide for mobile reporting, and best practices for various social media platforms.
Collaborate with our partner stations during election years to produce engaging social media content, much of which I shot and edited myself.
Train new crop of interns each semester on copyright and mass communications law.
Back-up Digital News Editor (June 2020 - Current)
Fill in for our digital news editor and midday digital producer when they’re on leave, which includes writing and posting news content, curating our homepage, writing copy for our on-air hosts, managing our social feeds, supervising digital interns, planning our daily newsletter, etc.
Also on deck with the digital news team for breaking news events like election nights and hurricanes, planning and producing digital news content like live blogs and social media reels, and digitizing the broadcast versions of stories reported by journalists in the field.

Collaborated with healthcare journalists at public radio stations around the state to cover healthcare access, affordability, legislation, and more.

Regional Reporter/Assistant News Editor (August 2014 - January 2015)
Produced news articles for print and online, and shot and edited my own photos and video.
Worked with reporters and paginators to make the print paper a reality by copyediting, proofreading, budgeting pages, editing photos and uploading and formatting content through the CMS.

Runner - Republican National Convention (August 2012)
Completed tasks required on the set of MSNBC for live shows aired from the Republican National Convention, such as Hardball and Morning Joe, to aid the progress of the shoot.
Purchased and picked up equipment and furniture needed on set and in the break rooms, was used as a placeholder on set before the convention to test lighting, audio and camera angles, conveyed messages, helped with freelance production crew payroll, and responded to specific requests from the Producer, Director or Assistant Directors.

Wrote student life news stories, took photos, created photo galleries in SoundSlides, and shot/edited video for reporter's packages for the University of South Florida’s homepage.
